Schuylkill County NEEDS to Re-Elect Jim Rhoades

After all that we have been through this election season, don’t we deserve to have a CHOICE about who we elect to succeed Jim Rhoades to the 29th District Senate seat that he occupied for nearly three decades?  The ONLY way to have such a choice is to cast your ballot one last time for Jim Rhoades .

PJ Symons wants you to believe that if you want effective representation in Harrisburg, he is the only man who can provide it. Logically speaking, Symons’ argument is a fallacy known as a “false dilemma”, where a person intentionally mischaracterizes a given situation to make it seem that you only have two options to solve a problem in order to force you to choose the option that he wants you to choose. Simply speaking, it is a way for a slick politician to manipulate a person, through lack of information or misinformation, into doing what he wants them to do because he knows that an informed person would choose the opposite of what he is advocating.

Secondly, I find it disrespectful to the memory of Jim Rhoades to suggest that if a voter punches his ticket for Rhoades, he would somehow be committing a disservice to himself and his community by leaving them without an advocate in Harrisburg. Jim Rhoades fought for more than 25 years to provide Schuylkill County with the best representation in the Senate. For someone to say that Rhoades’ family wants to disenfranchise the very constituency Jim spent his career helping is disgusting and offensive.

It is not a surprise that Symons has resorted to these types of dirty tactics. He has had it in for Jim Rhoades for years. Hell, his entire candidacy is a last ditch effort at revenge for a perceived slight of his wife at the hands of Rhoades. This latest media blitz on the radio, in the mail, and in the newspaper, is Symons’ final chance to sully the reputation and lasting legacy of the politician he so hated. DON’T LET HIM DO IT!

Don’t let a sleazy turncoat like Symons be the one to sit in Big Jim’s chair. Symons switched parties at a politically opportune time. He only became a democrat because he knew the tide in this county was starting to change. In the Senate, what do you think will happen to his “values” and campaign promises if they become the least bit unpopular? Do you really want a guy representing you in the snake pit we call Harrisburg, who can so easily cast aside his morals, values, beliefs, and ideology?

I say HELL NO. I want someone in Harrisburg who will fight for me. I want someone who will jump down in the foxhole with me even if it means he might be unpopular with some in the Capitol. I want someone with rock solid values from which he builds his entire life. PJ Symons does not meet this criteria. The ONLY man on the ballot who does is Jim Rhoades and if you want the chance to send someone else to Harrisburg like him, you need to cast your ballot for Rhoades on November 4th.

We can’t elect Ali Rhoades unless Jim Rhoades wins this election!!! Please, everyone, for the sake of political dynasty, please vote for Jim Rhoades so that the crown can be passed to Ali Rhoades!!!!! Democracy – NO! Monarchy – YES!

There IS a choice on the ballot Nov. 4: Independent Dennis Baylor, who is very conservative and a Republican at heart, who worked very hard to jump over the unfair hurdles placed on him by the two-party dominated system to get himself on the ballot, and PJ Symons the Democrat. If everyone who loves liberty votes for the Independent, we will be in great shape. Either way, there is a choice that represents democracy vs the monarchy we will prolong if we vote for Jim Rhoades. Your choice for a special election then becomes Prince Neal, or Princess Ali. God help our wallets if Ali likes to spend the taxpayers’ money like her old man did.

  2. Jefferson Jackson Browne

Well said. Dennis Baylor is the best qualified of all of the candidates. It is time to end the political aristocracy in Schuylkill County and give democracy a chance.

  3. Jim B

I agree with T Rex & JJ Browne ………vote for Dennis Baylor or PJ, that would be the best way to go.

Right on. No more dynasties. No more good ole boys. No more old money in control. Let’s get some new blood in there. We need more Joe the Plumber’s and Sarah Palins, not people with the silver spoon. Neal Goodman hasn’t worked a hard day in the private sector his entire life. Ms Rhoades Hobbs hasn’t either. She tried teaching for a short while but decided it was beneath her and quit. That’s the entire exent of her experience.
Let’s get some people in office who are middle class, who work hard, who know the issues regular people are struggling with.

A great statesman like sen.rhoades would not want to see his seat vacant and as far as his staff running ship we the public do not vote for a staff but for a candidate.and as far as alli is concerned nepotism is not the answer.

The anti-Ali Rhoades comments are as dumb, misleading and erroneous as the people who wrote them. To the chat pack: Can you possibly make a dumber statement? If Senator Rhoades gave Ali the seat, that is nepotism. If we elect her, it is NOT nepotism.

Baylor is in a win/win position. He will be in a better position in a special election. For the past 6 months, nobody cared about him or noticed him. In a special election, he gets looked at as an equal, going head to head with two other new candidates.

And about Symons, he is a back stabber, who has become a puppet for the democracts. He was just a name on the ballot and never had a chance of defeating Rhoades. He knows that, the dems know that, we all know that. So why give him a shot? He didn’t have a shot to begin with. Should he get the job and our votes because the favorite died and he is the only on left? NO! NO! NO!

PJ is not qualified, he ran for his wife’s revenge. His wife was a primadonna at the couthouse, she couldn’t handle the drive to Harrisburg. After leaving her job at the courthouse, she wanted her supervisor position back after it was filled, months later. Senator did the right thing, said no. “Work your was back up the ladder like everyone else”.

Hey, this is about US, all the citizens of the 29th.

We need the best person in the seat. Let Baylor rerun in the special election, let the dems and reps give their best candidates up to run and represent us.

WE CANNOT LET PJ WIN THIS. HE IS A DEMOCRATIC PATSY PUPPET. THE DEMS DON’T WANT HIM IN THERE EITHER. IF THEY COULD SEE INTO THE FUTURE, DO YOU POSSIBLY THINK THEY WOULD ALLOW A LONGTIME REPUBLICAN RAILROAD WORKER, WHO CANNOT SPEAK CLEARLY ON CAMERA OR FORM HIS OWN OPINION, REPRESENT THEM? OF COURSE NOT!

we don’t even know if Ali win run! BUT, ALI HAS A LOT OF JIM IN HER. SHE IS WELL EDUCATED and DEDICATED TO HER FATHER’S IDEALS. IF SHE DECIDES TO RUN, SHE WILL BE OUR BEST CHOICE. SHE KNOWS “WWDD” THE BEST. WHAT WOULD DAD DO?
